In the Stages we come to recognise the sign of our dissociation our feeling of lacking a magic something that gives our lives flavour and meaning. The authentic taste of life.

We who are dissociated feel we have mastered forgiveness. We make endless gratitude lists to placate our dissociation. But this is only because we use this action to completely deny the harm done to us – and the damage remaining. The awakened forgive spontaneously and without effort because they have fully embraced their damaged parts and grieved every honest ounce of their misery.

We who are dissociated are extremely self-confident. But this is only because our self-deceptive armour is impenetrable to any self-reflection. The self-confidence of enlightenment is fed by the universal spring of life and is fed by a quiet inner knowing.

We who are dissociated gravitate naturally toward leadership roles. But this is only because we are experts at leading ourselves away from our heart’s true course. The enlightened person leads right to the heart of the matter.

We who are dissociated have gone through hell to get to where we’re at. But we fail to realise that we’re still stuck right in hell.

Enlightenment is the freedom of emotional integration with our true self.
